Capacity-Building Workshop on Public Service Reform and Performance-Based Workforce Development Held in Malaysia

A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia and its Federal Member States participated in an important capacity-building workshop in Malaysia focused on public service reform and performance-based employee development. The workshop was led by Mr. Abdirizaq Ibrahim, the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia.

Focus of the Workshop

The training workshop centered on the reform and modernization of public service delivery and examined the role of Malaysia’s National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) in strengthening institutional performance through strategic training and advanced leadership development programs.

During their stay, the Somali delegation held a productive meeting with senior officials from the Public Service Department (JPA) under the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Malaysia, led by H.E. Ambassador Ali Mohamed Abukar (Ali Wolf), played an active role in facilitating and supporting the workshop. The Ambassador commended the participants for their commitment to advancing Somalia’s reform agenda and emphasized the Embassy’s readiness to assist in fostering partnerships that enhance governance and capacity building.
